Noemica Journal adopts editorial policies grounded in scientific excellence, research integrity, editorial transparency, and Open Science. The journal follows widely recognized national and international frameworks, promoting good practices in scholarly publishing, responsible research assessment, and the ethical dissemination of knowledge.

Editorial Ethics and Scientific Integrity

Noemica Journal conducts its editorial activities in accordance with the principles established by the following organizations and documents:

The journal repudiates any form of scientific misconduct, including plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, improper image manipulation, unwarranted authorship, redundant publication, and any practice incompatible with research integrity.

Manuscript Originality

All manuscripts may undergo a preliminary assessment of originality and scientific integrity.

The journal uses similarity detection systems, complemented by editorial review procedures.

Similarity reports serve as supporting tools and do not, on their own, constitute grounds for accepting or rejecting manuscripts.

Review Process

Noemica Journal adopts a Double-Blind Peer Review system, ensuring anonymity between authors and reviewers throughout the editorial process.

Editorial decisions are based exclusively on scientific quality, originality, methodological rigor, and adherence to the journal's scope.

Open Science

The journal adopts Open Science principles in line with the:

Research Data Policy

The journal recommends that authors include a Data Availability Statement (DAS), indicating the availability of the data used in the research.

Data sharing is strongly encouraged but is not a mandatory requirement for publication.

Artificial Intelligence

The use of Artificial Intelligence tools must observe:

  • the recommendations of COPE;
  • the CNPq Guidelines for Research Integrity;
  • the European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity.

AI tools may not be recognized as authors or co-authors of manuscripts.

The journal uses Artificial Intelligence tools to support the editorial process, in a complementary capacity that never replaces the editors' own judgment. These tools assist in identifying indications of plagiarism and AI-generated text, with particular attention to cases in which authors do not disclose the use of such technologies in preparing the manuscript. The results obtained serve as input to editorial decision-making and do not, on their own, constitute grounds for acceptance or rejection. For articles approved for publication, AI tools may also be used to support copyediting and formatting to the journal's editorial layout.

Open Access

Noemica Journal adopts the Diamond Open Access model, ensuring free and immediate access to its content, with no submission, processing, publication, or reading fees.

All articles are published under the:

Self-Archiving

Noemica Journal authorizes authors to self-archive, at any time and without prior authorization, the preprint, the accepted manuscript after peer review (postprint), and the version published by the journal (version of record). Deposits may be made in institutional, subject, or personal repositories, academic pages, and preprint networks.

There is no embargo period: this permission derives directly from the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0) under which all content is published, and from the Diamond Open Access model adopted by the journal.

The self-archived version is recommended to include the article's full bibliographic reference and, when available, the DOI assigned via Crossref. Long-term preservation of the journal's collection is carried out by the Cariniana Network (IBICT), which adds to authors' own self-archiving as an additional layer of permanent access to the content.
